A home away from home

Riversong Guest House is situated in Newlands, Cape Town, an area of town with nice homes and houses, if you are able to see through the wall fence. So also with Riversong Guest House. It's relatively anonymous outside does not bare any evidence of what will be revealed on the inside.
Once I entered I was approached by the owner Mrs. McManus, which immediately gave a very good impression. The staff presented itself, and also gave a very nice and friendly impression. The premises are impressive, both in color, maintenance, and furnishings.
I was given the "Colonial Room" which is facing the northern slopes of Table Mountain. What a beautiful view I had of the mountain at both sunset and sunrise! The slopes were green and the colors of the sun were spilling on the mountain in full harmony of the mountain and green ground.
After a very good night's rest in the best bed I've been in apart from home, a hearty breakfast awaited me in the lounge, very friendly and pleasantly served.
I fully recommend this Guest House, in which Capetownian hospitality at it's absolutely best has shown itself. If you are looking for a place to rest and recuperate in lavish surroundings with a service and friendliness that you most definitely will not meet in a hotel, Riversong Guest House is highly recommended!
