About the Portfolio Collection Team
Since Portfolio came into existence in 1982, many faces and names have come and gone on the team, each person making a unique contribution to the company. Currently the following talented individuals form the team that makes Portfolio the on-going success story that it is, together with their International Partners:
Portfolio Consultants
Renée joined Portfolio in 2009, after 15 years in the travel industry. “I’ve been fortunate to visit many beautiful and interesting places, but I always love coming home to South Africa. Apart from travelling I love spending time with family and friends, surfing, reading, music…and adventure!”
Wendy’s been with Portfolio since 2004, has two boys, one working all over the world and the other studying Civil Engineering at Stellenbosch. Wendy reads a lot in her spare time and goes to the gym a lot. Cubby the cat rules her house - and Cubby has also starred on the Portfolio Travel Blog.

Raze has worked in the hospitality industry for over 15 years. Creating unforgettable experiences is what drives her soul. Initially involved with Portfolio Collection for 8 years, she moved into the world of private consulting and launched her own company, PlanPerfect. Now Raze is back doing what she love's best – marketing positive and profitable experiences with Moja Media and Portfolio Collection.
Kirsty started working for Portfolio in 2007. Born and raised in Joburg, she found her way to Cape Town in 2002 and hasn’t looked back. Two kids, one a pre-teen and the other a toddler keep her busy if not a little crazy at times. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, scary movies, live music and taking the dogs and kids to the beach.

I have two beautiful daughters, both married to very special boys. I love reading - anything from Maeve Binchy to Timothy Zahn, as long as it is a story well told. My two cats are good company, and I love the way they both run up to the car each time I get home.
Joy has worked as a chamber maid, house painter, au pair, PA, bar maid, wedding planner and freelance copywriter. As editor of the Portfolio Travel Blog she gets to share her passion for the people and places of SA with readers each day. She has a teenage son who keeps her busy and entertained. Her must-haves are the ocean, her camera, her husband and beer!
Website Development
Ed studied Psychology but began his IT career in 2004 working on SafariNow.com and Portfoliocollection.com. After some years of further study, travel, menial labour, and various web development jobs back in Cape Town, he’s recently joined the Portfolio team full time. He enjoys yoga, swimming, good food at regular intervals throughout the day, and he plays percussion with a Celtic-medieval-acoustic-folk-rock band.

Megan is a vibrant woman who enjoys spending time with her husband and their daughter. She has been working for the past ten years within the retail, building and property industries but her strength has always been finance related. She is currently furthering her studies, when she is not too busy with her family life. Her hobbies include reading, writing, playing violin and piano.

African Synergy represents Portfolio Collection to their extensive network of tour operators, travel agents and the corporate market. Comprising dynamic duo Anke Paterson and Liesel Visagie, African Synergy is passionate about South Africa and committed to enhancing and stimulating tourism. They see themselves as South African ambassadors both locally and abroad; as the bridge between product and client.

James has worked in the travel industry in the UK in many sectors & capacities since 1987, and has been involved with tourism to Africa since 1993. James considers himself a 'travel junkie' and unless he has a holiday booked or being planned he feels as though he is going 'cold turkey'. He now travels with his family, encouraging his children to be citizens of the world! James is a founder member of the Africa Collection team (from July 2000) & is a director of the company.
South African born and bred, Chris has lived and worked in the UK Travel Industry since 1994. He loves travelling, sport, fishing, cooking (especially hosting braai's where he and his faithful tongs can be found in all weather!!), all accompanied by another of his passions, fine wines! Chris is married with three children, which although chaotic at times keeps him young! Chris is a founder of Africa Collection and enjoys the dynamic nature of the travel industry as a director of the company.
