Description |
Overlooking the Knysna lagoon historic Belvidere Manor Hotel lies in a beautiful garden setting offering the traveller a relaxed and tranquil holiday. Individual white-washed cottages have stunning views overlooking the lagoon. Each single or double-storey cottage includes an airy verandah, a comfortable livingroom with fireplace and satellite TV, a kitchen and a choice of one, two or three en suite double bedrooms. Named after the first mistress of Belvidere, “Caroline’s at Belvidere” offers à la carte in the gracious dining rooms or on the verandah. Sample good food and wine on a summer’s evening whilst the moon rises over the lagoon in one of the most romantic settings in the country. Breakfast and tea is taken on the terrace under the shade of an ancient tree, with sweeping views of the lagoon. A favourite meeting place for guests and locals alike is The Bell Tavern, Knysna’s smallest pub, serving light meals throughout the day. This cosy tavern features indigenous wood and a wine cellar viewed through a glass panel in the floor. Enjoy a sparkling pool, tennis courts and boat trips, whilst unspoilt beaches, forest walks and Knysna’s many attractions are a short drive away. TGCSA 4-Star Hotel.
