Description |
(Location: Tala Game Reserve, near Durban) A masterpiece of architectural and aesthetic design, Leadwood is a stylish lodge built using African organic material and finishes. Overlooking an expanse of water in the Tala Game Reserve, Leadwood is the home of Tala’s owner, and personal attention has been paid to every detail, with eclectic touches everywhere. Giant age-old leadwood trunks are the focal point of the main house along with collectable antiques. The entertainment room is completed by a full size snooker table and handcrafted mahogany bar, while the walls have been built from shale found on the reserve. Other rooms in the house also follow this comfortable air of luxury, such as the private library and the world renowned wine cellar. Most walls in the house have foldaway sections that open onto spectacular decks with breathtaking views of the expansive natural watering hole, home to hippo. The spaciousness is reflected in the private cottages tucked away in the bush. Food is an occasion, with delicious gourmet breakfasts and celebrated five-course dinners. Relax at the heated infinity pool, enjoy game drives in an open Landrover, horse riding, bass fishing, birding and bush walks.
