In the rugged beauty of the malaria-free Waterberg mountains, a comfortable 320 km drive from Johannesburg, nature meets luxury at Nungu, with spacious suites in a serene yet spectacular setting on the banks of the Mokolo River.

The glass-fronted open-plan suites of Main Lodge offer a haven of peace and tranquillity - with outdoor showers and private, heated plunge pools.

Nungu House offers exclusive-use with a generous open-plan suite, spacious bedroom, kitchen and an in-house chef to attend to your culinary needs. Relax at your private pool, socialise in the lapa with other guests or unwind at the rim-flow pool overlooking the river.

The intimate Fig Tree Lodge nearby has 2 open-plan suites sharing a pool. All suites are air-conditioned. The lush riverine setting lends itself to abundant wildlife, with over 200 species of birds, including 3 of the Big 5 such as rhino, leopard and buffalo as well as brown hyena, sable and the elusive Nungu (porcupine).

There are magnificent outlook points, including the incredible Eagles View which overlooks the river as far as the eye can see and where you may be enthralled by the resident black eagle pair.
