From the sweeping driveway and manicured lawns enter the covered portico and spacious double volume reception area where large windows and glass doors frame the view. Contemporary classic style with natural browns, charcoal and white enhanced by interesting art. The striking bar, spacious dining room and wooden tables dressed in crisp white linen bear testimony to the ethos of quality that defines Plateau. Fresh local produce served with care is complemented by wines from the owner’s extensive private collection housed in the underground wine cellar. Wooden walkways lead to a forest deck, ideal for sundowners or a leisurely breakfast. Directions to Get There :
Scheduled flights and air charter
Plettenberg Bay Airport (35 km from Plateau), George Airport (135 km from Plateau) and Port Elizabeth Airport (200 km from Plateau) are the most popular airports among guests traveling to Plateau. Hire a car or allow us to arrange an airport transfer for you.
Helicopter
Guests of Plateau are eligible for the waiving of landing and parking fees for the use of our paved, unrestricted helistop on Platbos Reserve: S 33°56'53.5", E023°34'58.1", elevation: 214m. This waiver depends on individual circumstances - please confirm when making your reservation.
By road from George/Plettenberg Bay
Travel eastward on the N2 towards Port Elizabeth. 30 km past the town of Plettenberg Bay is the Tsitsikamma Plaza Tollgate. You need not pass through the tollgate or pay toll. Take the exit 300m before the tollgate and turn right towards Nature's Valley on the R102 (left is down the Bloukrans Pass). The R102 crosses over the N2 and enters an indigenous forest "tunnel". The entrance to Plateau is 3.5 km down this road on the left and is well signposted.
By road from Port Elizabeth
Travel westward on the N2 toward Cape Town. 27 km west of the Stormsriver Bridge is the Tsitsikamma Plaza tollgate. Pass through the tollgate (major credit cards and cash accepted). Directly after the tollgate take the exit and turn left onto the R102, towards Nature's Valley. You will find yourself in a "tunnel" trough indigenous forest. Plateau is 3.5 km down this road on the left and is well signposted.
