Eat out: Constantia offers plenty of wonderful restaurants and eateries. The Constantia Village Shopping Centre has numerous cafes and restaurants, or look out for Greens near Groot Constantia and Peddlars on the Bend deep in rural Constantia for a large, excellent restaurant and popular wine bar. Simon's at Groot Constantia is great for special occaisions.

Golf: The Steenberg Golf Estate on the border of Constantia and Tokai was designed and built by one of South Africa's leading golf course architects, Peter Matkovich.

Horse riding: Saddle up and ride through vineyards and forests with one of the established horse riding stables in Constantia. Most schools offer outrides for beginners through to experienced riders.

Markets: If you love fresh produce and craft markets then Constantia has plenty on offer. There's the Constantia Organic Food & Wine Market and the Constantia Craft Market, while the Waldorf high school holds Organic markets on Fridays and regular night markets in summer. Porters Estate Market near the Steenberg Golf Estate is a wonderful wind free spot for a Saturday breakfast.

Shopping: Constantia Village is a wonderful shopping centre with a great selection of stores, allowing shoppers to buy everything from basic groceries to designer clothes, homeware to diamonds, books to perfumes.

Wine tasting: Constantia has its own wine route that boasts a number of excellent wine estates but the best known is Groot Constantia, the oldest wine estate in South Africa, and a national monument. Groot Constantia was established in 1685 by the Governor of the Cape of Good Hope Simon van der Stel. Today you can sample and buy fine wines here and walk through the beautiful historic grounds, or eat at one of the excellent restaurants in the grounds.
