Mkhaya Game Reserve

Mkhaya is a charming rustic stone camp in the heart of the 10 000 hectare Mkhaya Game Reserve surrounded by tall ancient fig, leadwood, knob thorn and giant sausage trees. Beneath this canopy, rustic stone and thatched cottages are semi-open structures with low walls and pillars, between the walls and roof are large spaces open to the bush.

They are spread out along a dry riverbed or set on an elevated edge of the riverine forest. Meals are served in the thatched lapa or in an open area under a sausage tree in front of a roaring log fire.

Landrover and walking safaris with experienced rangers to spot rare black rhino, roan, sable and elephant and abundant birdlife with the elusive Narina Trogon. Bar, curio shop and small lounge.
