7 Passes Tented Camp is situated near Wilderness, at Woodville (with its famous big tree) - between the Touw and Diep River Passes on the Seven Passes Road. This famous and scenic route was once the only road between the city of George in the west and the holiday town of Knysna in the east – but now it’s a peaceful, quiet country lane that just begs to be explored.
At 7 Passes Tented Camp relax in one of the six luxury safari tents overlooking the lake at Mandalay Farm, near Wilderness, on South Africa’s Garden Route coast. It’s the base from which to explore the attractions and enjoy all the things to do in the Wilderness, Sedgefield, and Knysna sections the Garden Route National Park. Mossel Bay is about 50km to the west, and Oudtshoorn and the Klein Karoo are to the north, across the Outeniqua Mountains. Each of the permanent, en-suite waterside safari tents has its own deck and jacuzzi bath and over-bath showers. It is great for couples, families, and groups. Each tents has a small fridge, kettle, microwave and utensils. The African style boma /restaurant has been built and is operational.
The six luxury tents were opened in March 2013, and a traditional African boma with braai facilities - Dinner in the restaurant available on request. Mandalay Farm is protected by a 24-hour security service.
Activities in the area include mountain biking, birding, walking, scenic drives, beach and forest visits, golf - and relaxation. Attractions in the Garden Route include MTB trails; the Pezula, Simola, Fancourt, Oubaai, George, Mossel Bay and Pinnacle Point championship golf courses; Blue Flag Beaches – and much, much more.
