Six rooms in five unique buildings situated on the same beautiful property in a quiet area of the village Franschhoek. There are four sun-kissed swimming pools and shady gardens where one can lie in privacy and listen to the splashing of the fountains, the song of the cicadas, the cooing of the Cape Doves … sounds so evocative of the Cape Winelands.
This is coupled with the personal service that only a very small, family-owned and managed, five-star guest house and boutique hotel can give. From this retreat stroll to the village centre and its famous restaurants. Rated number one Hotel in Franschhoek on Tripadvisor.com.

Directions from Cape Town International Airport
Go directly out of the airport to the N2 and follow the directions to Somerset West along the N2. Turn to the left when the sign says Stellenbosch (Baden Powell Drive – R310 – exit 33). This road goes past Spier and you will travel quite a way. When you came to a traffic light at a T-Junction turn right (you are then almost in Stellenbosch) Continue along this road until the 10th traffic light (This includes a streetlight at a pedestrian crossing). This 10th traffic light is past the industrial/commercial area of Stellenbosch just when you are coming into the countryside again on the right hand side.
Look for a sign to the right saying Franschhoek, Ida’s Valley. This sign is on the right hand side about 30 metres before the turn off and is obscured by leaves. The actual turn is at this streetlight.
Turn right. Go over the pass and past Boschendal until you reach a T-junction. Turn right and about 15 km later you will find yourself in Franschhoek. Drive through Franschhoek until the end of town - the monument in front of you. Turn left. The second road is Akademie Street - turn left (You cannot go right). Come to reception at Twyfeling, under the big oak trees (you will see the Akademie Street Guesthouses sign outside Twyfeling).

Directions from Route 62 (Oudtshoorn / Calitzdorp /Ladismith / Barrydale / Montagu)
From MONTAGU you can either go directly to ROBERTSON via ASHTON or else a longer (about half an hour) but very pretty route is to go to Robertson via Bonnievale. We recommend you take the detour.
Go through ROBERTSON in direction of WORCESTER
Before you get to Worcester you pass two small farm stalls NUY on left. Shortly thereafter is another farm stall with a big tree (usually full of pumpkins). At sign saying AAN DE DOORNS turn left. At T-Junction turn left towards VILLIERSDORP. Go straight through VILLIERSDORP. When you get to bridge over a large lake turn right. Sign says FRANSCHHOEK. Go over pass.
At bottom of pass when arriving in Franschhoek look for sign on right saying Akademie Street Guesthouses. Follow sign. We are in Akademie Street on the right hand side almost immediately thereafter. Watch for the "Akademie Street Guesthouses" sign in the garden under the big oaks. This is Twyfeling and this is where reception is.
