ABOUT Cheetah Plains Private Game Reserve

*** CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS UNTIL 15 DECEMBER 2018***

Bordering Kruger Park and Mala Mala, free movement of abundant wildlife makes for exclusive sightings in the world-renowned Big Five territory of Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Cheetah Plains exudes a warm African feel, allowing one to feel at home in the bush.

Traditional safari values include an authentic safari experience with bushveld panoramas, plentiful wildlife, comfortable thatch chalets, service with a smile and delicious South African home style dining around the campfire. Early morning and evening game drives with experienced guides make the most of the finest game viewing opportunities. Lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, antelope and more can be spotted among the thorn and marula trees.

Back at the lodge, take a plunge in the swimming pool surrounded by trees with a view over the dam, where animals drink and bushbuck can be seen at the waters edge. Each of the eight traditionally thatched rooms blends into the surrounding African bush, with air-conditioning, overhead fans and mosquito nets. While the two-bedroom bush cottage is ideal for families or romantic travellers looking for extra privacy. Dinner is served around a roaring fire in traditional boma style against the night sounds of the African bushveld.
