Just two and a half hours from Johannesburg, it's the ideal stop-over en-route to Kruger, Swaziland, the Drakensburg and Battlefields. Nature and outdoor lovers can explore the area by mountain bike, 4X4 or on foot. Make sure to bring your camera as the scenery is a photographer's dream. Keen birders can spot endemic resident birds, enjoying self-drives and four bird hides. A two or three night stay is recommended

From Johannesburg: Head south towards Bethel. (Don’t go via Standerton there are often roadworks and delays). Pass through Bethel. As you are leaving Bethel take the right turn to Morgenzon / Amersfoort. Go through the town of Morgenzon, heading onto Amersfoort. At the first and only traffic light in Amersfoort, turn right towards Volksrust. (Avoid the gravel road turnoff to Wakkerstroom). Travel straight towards Volksrust. At the first traffic light as you enter Volksrust, turn left to Wakkerstroom. It will then be 25km to us. We are situated on the main tar road as you enter the village, and before the first stop street. DeKotzenhof is on the Right hand side, with large grey walls and black gates. You can’t get much, more central to the village than this!
