You simply can’t believe that this view exists in Mbabane. The guest house is on the edge of a hill, looking across a valley to the largest granite outcrop in the world! It’s owner-run so Marylyn, Lee-Anne and the friendly team really look after guests, who always wish they’d stayed an extra night.

"This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this beautiful guest house. It is set up in the mountains with spectacular views. The rooms are beautifully decorated and immaculate. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make one feel at home. It's a little bit farther to the downtown area than some other places, but definitely worth it. They have several trusted taxi drivers on whom you can rely while you are there. Most importantly, the food is phenomenal for both meat eaters and vegetarians. I hope to go back to Mbabane soon and will not consider staying anywhere else."

"Our stay at Ematjeni Guest House was amazing. From the warm welcome with coffee and chocolate cake, to the friendly wave goodbye from the owner. This is a place of high quality, whether it be the awesome views, the finely furnished lounge or the really comfortable rooms. Everything you may have thought you needed, has already been thought of and made available. We were a party of four. My husband and I had the Impala Room and my sister and husband the Eland Room. The latter is a new addition and is a spectacular room, with a wonderful bathroom. You can have a bath and overlook the mountains.Delicious breakfasts and exceptionally friendly staff. We ate our evening meals at the Ramblas restaurant 5 minutes drive away. This is a place I would recommend to anyone."

Ematjeni - Perfection in hospitality
28 Oct 2013

"My wife and I spent Friday and Saturday nights at Ematjeni Guest House. I have been coming to Swaziland for years, and I can't believe it took me so long to discover this gem! The rooms are spotless, equipped with everything (down to the UK power adapter), stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, and a wonderful sense of peace and tranquility. The hosts are incredibly friendly - we left feeling more like family friends than paying guests. The food is divine, and the service is excellent. We experienced the first thunderstorms of the summer season, and found two umbrellas conveniently placed outside our room door. In future, I will not be staying anywhere else in Mbabane unless Ematjeni is fully booked!"

"This is a well hidden gem in the middle of the mountains of Swaziland. A fantastic place, with an outstanding personal touch. We were greeted welcome with coffee and wonderful homemade chocolate cake. The rooms appear as new, spotless clean, spacious and with breathtaking views. Food and wine are really good, reasonable priced, - and plenty of it. (;o)) The place is luxurious, but very cosy at the same time. We will definitely come back next time in Swaziland."

"Ematjeni was an absolute delight and we all enjoyed the attention to detail from the plunger coffee and chocolate cake on arrival to the scissors provided to open the coffee sachets in the rooms. A perfect stop over after two very damp days at the delightful Mkhaya camp. Such a spectacular setting which we would like to enjoy again in sunnny weather. Will definitely return when we have occasion to treat ourselves again"

"I have travelled extensively (23 or so countries at last count) and I can honestly say this is without doubt one of the best guest houses I have ever stayed at. The decor is tasteful and luxurious and the rooms are superb. Our bathroom was fronted with a three panel sliding door which opened onto our veranda with an outstanding view over Sibebe. The staff are considerate and helpful without being 'in-your-face'. They cooked dinner for us both nights and my husband is still drooling over Ivy's steak and chips. We were lounging about after climbing a mountain on Saturday afternoon when there was a knock on the door and Angie appeared with a tray -'I brought you some snacks' she said. What a nice touch. Thank you so much to everyone - Marilyn, Ivy, Angie and Lee-Anne. We had an excellent weekend and hope to be back."

"Stunning environment,it is impossible to guess that it is actually situated close to Mbabane. It feels as if you are tucked away in some private luxurious hide away. The rooms and the lounge are of the same high standard of luxury, the owners have given meticulous attention to detail, and it is a pleasure to recommend this guest house to visitors to the Swazi kingdom. You can stay here in Mbabane and explore the country by means of day trips to the countryside."

"We had totally underestimated the time to drive here and as a result arrived quite late, at about 8.15 pm. Nevertheless the staff willingly set about preparing a simple but fabulous 3-course meal for us. The breakfast was similarly of the highest quality. The rooms are luxurious and the views from the terrace are outstanding. A first class establishment with first class staff."

Tranquil paradise.

"Hidden up a long drive lies this little gem of a guesthouse. This must be the best kept secret in Swaziland! From the personal welcome, the much appreciated tea tray & delicious chocolate cake on arrival to the comfortably appointed room - where I am lying on the bed writing this while looking out over the terrace onto amazing views. Friendly helpful staff and a stunning setting make this the place that I will return to the next time I am down on business. I met people from all over the world at dinner and breakfast who were equally impressed. Many thanks to Marilyn, Lee Anne & Renee for their kind hospitality."

"We had wonderful stay at this property, nice views from the room and verandah. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Ms Ivy was fantastic. We also opted for dinner on both evenings and did not regret. The food quality (also breakfast) and attractive dining room were impressive. Only negative thing which we experienced, was the distance from city center and the poor quality of the dirt road to Ematjeni, less than 2 km though."
