ABOUT Excelsior Manor Guest House

Excelsior Manor, in the heart of the Robertson Wine Valley, was built during the ostrich feather boom of the early 1900s. This tranquil 200-hectare wine and citrus farm was founded in 1859 and has been in the De Wet family for 5 generations.

The Manor, set amongst shady trees, fragrant roses and a rose labyrinth, offers stylish bedrooms.

Generous farm breakfasts and delicious dinners are served indoors or on the wooden deck overlooking the swimming pool, with sweeping views over the vineyards to the distant Langeberg mountains.

Enjoy fishing, lovely walks through the vineyards or to one of six nearby wine tasting venues.

Great experience
29 Sep 2013

"This was a lovely experience for mother and daughter to be travelling on their own (husband with the two other children back home in Germany) for the first time in South Africa, to receive such a warm welcome from Carin. The room was georgeous, the bed heater helpful in these cool days of September, the dinner at the fireplace very good. We enjoyed the walk through the vineyards and the generous breakfast aswell. What a pity we had to leave again so soon, but there were still other places to be visited."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the bed was soooo comfortable. We were able to take the golf buggy out and explore the farm before breakfast which was good to see. We really wished we had time to stay for another night as it was a great chill out location. We would definately recommend tis place to our friends and family."

"I can highly recommend the Excelsior Manor Guest House. It is exactly what we were looking for, a warm and hospitable host who was not not only welcoming but also very accommodating, beautiful surroundings and enchanting manor house. We managed to relax and enjoy our surroundings. Loved creating our own wine blend, cycling around the vineyard and trying to fish in the dam. Our stay was magical!"

"We found the Excelsior Manor very comfortable in the most attractive old Dutch Cape House. The room was large and the swimming pool a good size for the number of guests. We had dinner on three evenings which was of a very high standard and breakfast by the pool made an excellent start to the day. It was nice to stay on a working winery"
