ABOUT Geiger’s Camp

Situated in the Greater Kruger National Park, Geiger’s Camp is the latest addition to Motswari Private Game Reserve in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park. Once you check into Motswari, you are driven two kilometres through the bush by Land Rover to Geiger’s Camp, and you can be fetched to visit the main Motswari lodge at any time.

Perched on a ridge with panoramic views over Big Five terrain, this safari camp fuses tasteful elegance with rustic charm. An exclusive hideaway built from rock and stone, the homestead was built as a traditional-style family home for the late Roland Geiger which means it retains a homely atmosphere while now offering luxurious accommodation in four private bedrooms, making the camp ideal for private groups of families or friends.

Each unique suite is tastefully styled and guests can expect décor featuring an eclectic treasure trove of furniture and art. Spacious bathrooms have freestanding ball-and-claw baths and copper basins as well as an outdoor shower. Private decks off each room overlook the bush, although guests can also choose to spend most of their time relaxing on the main deck next to the oval infinity pool. This is also the perfect place to enjoy alfresco meals, catered to your specific needs and accompanied by an award-winning selection of Southern African wines. The library offers a serene snuggery filled with wildlife books, Africana and object d’art that speak of the Geiger family heritage and their love of nature.

Morning and evening game drives in open Land Rovers with professional field guides and trackers take place daily. Day and night bush walks can be arranged with experienced guides are also available as an optional extra. The more adventurous can opt to enjoy dinner or even sleep overnight in a treehouse known as Giraffe’s Nest. Daily safari interest talks take place before lunch.
