Wildlife photographers are in luck because there's now a water-level hide in the centre of a watering hole at Jaci's Lodges. Accessible via an underwater tunnel, this is where unique wilidlife photographic opportunities come to life.
Jaci’s Lodges offer a fabulous African safari destination in the malaria-free Big Five Madikwe Game Reserve. Madikwe boasts an exceptional variety of wildlife, including endangered wild dog, rhino, elephants, lions, hippos, giraffes to name a few. This 75 000 hectare African wilderness is home to two distinctive family-owned and managed lodges, perfect for romantics, families, weddings and specialised safaris including Photographic and Birding.
Jaci’s Safari Lodge celebrates Africa’s vibrant colours in a tented safari atmosphere. Six Tented Suites combine warm colours, natural stone, canvas walls and shaggy thatched roofs. Large mosaic baths are big enough for two, with an outdoor ‘safari’ shower and private deck overlooking a small ravine and running stream. Underfloor heating keeps you warm during the chilly winter months, and air-conditioning and a ceiling fan cools you down during sunburnt summer days.
Two Starbed Suites are the epitome of “glamping” with their outdoor showers, luxury lounge areas and private viewing decks with river vistas. Splashes of vibrant colours and custom-made finishes bring added charm to the spaces, with the unique rooftop extensions giving you the special opportunity to sleep under the African stars – a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Two Family/Group Suites are specially designed for families with children of all ages or friends travelling in a group.
Jaci’s Tree Lodge features only eight “tree houses” that float high above the ground on wooden stilts, connected by suspended walkways, with glimpses of the Marico River below. Made from African rosewood and thatch, each “tree house” blends seamlessly into the surrounding tree canopy, affording fantastic birdwatching in a relaxing, natural environment. Each room has a stone bath, outdoor shower and large deck from which you can enjoy the vista. Air-conditioning, fans and heaters ensure your comfort throughout the year. Children over 13 are welcome to enjoy a stay in the Treehouse Suites.
Jaci’s offers friendly hospitality along with delicious South African inspired meals, fire-cooked and served under the stars. Daily safaris into the wild are rewarded with sightings of Africa's most renowned wildlife species, while walking safaris will have your senses finely tuned to every sight, sound and smell. Specialist conservation, birding and photographic safaris arranged.

From OR Tambo International Airport, take the R21 towards Pretoria and continue for approximately 36 km. Take the N1 Polokwane/North and take the Bakwenya Platinum Highway/N4/Rustenburg toll road. Continue on the N4 in the direction of Rustenburg and take the R556/Sun City/Majakaneng turn-off. Turn right at the top of the off-ramp towards Sun City and continue straight to Sun City.
There is no fuel available inside Madikwe Game Reserve, we therefore urge you to refuel at Sun Village/Zeerust. Please phone the lodge when passing Sun City.
After passing Sun City and the Sun Village on the right, continue straight until you reach a four-way junction. Turn right to Derdepoort and follow the road for approximately 8 km, you will see a Jaci’s Safari Lodges sign and soon after will need to turn left at the sign saying Bapong. Continue along this road until you’ve passed through Mabeskraal. After approximately 45 km you will come to a four-way stop where you turn right to Derdepoort. This tar road continues for about 25 km and then becomes gravel, with Dwarsberg Liquor Store on the left. Continue along the gravel road towards Molatedi Village. Do not take the next Derdepoort turning to the right, continue straight. Pass through the Molatedi village, over the Marico River and continue to the Molatedi Gate entrance into the Park. From here the friendly gate staff can give you directions, or just follow the signs to Jaci’s Safari Lodges.
