The combination of colonial charm and luxurious opulence is heavenly. There are only 5 rooms so it’s exclusive and intimate, like your very own manor house in the bush. And the hospitality is so caring that I’ve met orphaned meerkats, a monkey and one-eyed bush buck. A fantastic option if you’re wanting to experience a safari as well as the many adventures and activities around the scenic Blyde River Canyon.

ABOUT Khaya Ndlovu Manor House

Situated in the Khaya Ndlovu Game Reserve, Khaya Ndlovu immerses you in nature and provides you with a beautiful home away from home experience which only seems fitting as khaya is the Zulu word for “home” or “haven”.

Just a stone’s throw away from Hoedspruit, the gateway to the fantastic wildlife area that is the greater Kruger, the fundamental part of the establishment is the stunning Manor House, located in the northern section of the reserve. Overlooking the spectacular Blyde River Canyon, the views are sweeping, immediately transporting you to a place of beauty and tranquillity. The towering Drakenstein Mountains add a certain majesty to the already incredible vistas.

The home has been tastefully furnished with a diverse collection of original artworks and Persian carpets, all coming together to create a place that exudes an exotic and luxurious ambiance. The al fresco dining area, as well as the pool deck, bar and various lounges, is all at your disposal to use when you’d like. Here, you set the pace of the day.

The luxury colonial-style Hardwood Suites are situated within the Manor House and all boast fabulous views of the tropical garden and external verandas which can be accessed from the rooms. Relax with a refreshing drink as you watch the resident garden monkeys provide entertainment with their acrobatic displays accompanied by a soundtrack of birdsong. The spacious and equally luxurious Garden Suites are a short walk from the Manor House.

Apart from heading out on safari and relaxing, you can also look forward to other exciting activities, including helicopter flights over the canyon, boat cruises down the Blyde River, game walks and more. The onsite spa also offers a range of revitalising packages designed to leave you feeling rejuvenated. Khaya Ndlovu is an ideal base from which to explore all the wonders of the Lowveld and the Panorama Route, as well as the perfect destination for a romantic break away or a memorable family holiday.

"Thank you for an enjoyable three days. Your hotel staff are very attentive and efficient. The food was generally of a high standard but the meat server at two of the evening meals was hard to cut and chew. The views are stunning. The rhino anti poaching initiative you have is great to see."

"+ wonderful building and location + staff is very open, uncomplicated, welcoming, chatty and just adorable + guests are considered as part of the family, dinners are taken all together mixing guests, part of the staff, the owner, friends and neighbors etc, resulting in funny and enjoyable moments + excellent food, great wines + the right location for spending a good time, with friends and family you didn't even know before your arrival ! + game drives can be organized on demand both on site as well as in nearby Thornybush. Here again in a very relaxed and uncomplicated manner. CJ and Mike took all the time it needed, gave valuable explanations and were in no hurry with the aim of giving us the best possible experience - thanks guys ! - negative points: hm, don't see any..."
