The hilltop location is absolutely breathtaking; you can watch vultures soar at eye-level from your private plunge pool. Game viewing is excellent, either by vehicle or on foot…we came across a cheetah feeding, while buffalo looked on and an elephant passed by, trumpeting his displeasure.

ABOUT Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge

Leopard Mountain is a family run Big Five game lodge set within the 48 000 acre Manyoni Private Game Reserve. Accommodation is in thatched stone chalets perched on a cliff top, with breathtaking views of the wilderness and seasonal river below. Experienced guides lead Big Five game drives through pristine wilderness, rich with abundant wildlife including endangered species such as cheetah, black rhino and African Wild Dog.

During the day you can opt to enjoy a waterhole experience where you can spend time observing the animals coming down to drink, soak up the sun while lounging around your private plunge pool or be pampered at the relaxing Africology Spa. Evening meals, of delicious cuisine and unique wine, are enjoyed under the stars for the ultimate romantic African experience.

"A beautiful place to be! Surrounded by the bush and the animals. We saw amongst others wild dogs and cheeta's! An experience we will never forget. The food is very good and in the evening the dinner is served around a camp fire! The trips in de morning and evening with the game rangers are super! Also the high tea and the drink arrangements before and during the trips with the rangers are wonderful! The rangers are very experienced and give you lots of information about the animals. The people of Leopard give you a wonderful experience with the beautiful wildlife of South Africa!"

"Amazing setting with beautiful views and extremely comfortable accomadation with well designed cottages. The beds were a real pleasure and the heated blankets a welcome surprise - especially needed given the torrential rain that came down during the stay. Personal touches present everywhere with this small lodge and a real feeling of being in a family environment. This extended to the catering which was closer to home cooked food than a five star gastronomic experience. The venison is particularly remembered as were the soups! Would love to return with better weather and experience game drives and the charms of the zululand rhino reserve."
