ABOUT Manyatta Rock Camp

Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve lies in close proximity to Kruger National Park, Mozambique and Swaziland offering day tours to the best parts of these African regions. It is the only single safari destination in Africa which offers Elephant Back Safaris, low altitude Microlight Safaris and Horse Back Safaris on site, in a 2000 ha wilderness, home to a variety of wildlife including wild elephant, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, leopard, klipspringer, kudu and crocodile along with an abundance of bird life. Also on offer are private conservancy Wilderness Drives, Kruger National Park Safaris, Night Drives, Walking Safaris and the opportunity to play the prestigious Leopard Creek Golf Course. Atop towering granite rock, unique dome-shaped rooms are hidden amongst immense boulders with dramatic views from private decks. DIRECTIONS & MAP

Directions:

Driving from KMIA
• Take the exit road from KMIA airport and after two minutes you will reach a T- Junction.
• Turn left and follow the road for approximately 15 minutes until you reach the N4 (National Toll Road).
• Turn left and drive through the Nkomazi Tollgate to the town of Malelane.
• Drive east on the N4 from Malelane.
• 1km before the town of Hectorspruit on the N4 turn right along the R570 towards Jeppes Reef. This road is signposted Kwa Madwala/Low Hills and Inkuba Game Farm.
• Please note there are two turnoffs after Malelane the second goes to Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve.
• Continue for 4.5km till you see a sign for Kwa Madwala and Strydomblok Road on your left.
• Turn left and continue for a further 4.5 km until you see the Kwa Madwala turnoff on your left clearly visible by the lion’s head logo.
• After 300m you will arrive at the security entrance gate to the Reserve, the guard at the gate will give you a map of the reserve.
• Buses will then drive a further 1.5 km of dirt road to the central buses/coaches parking area.
• Private vehicles travel 5 km on a dirt road to the guest parking area.

Driving from Johannesburg
• Take the M12 which becomes the N4 towards Maputo through the town of Nelspruit.
• From Nelspruit drive towards Malelane/Komatipoort (N4)
• You will drive through the Nkomazi Tollgate which is approximately 50km from Nelspruit and then to the town of Malelane.
• Drive east on the N4 from Malelane.
• 1km before the town of Hectorspruit take the second turning right onto the R570 towards Jeppes Reef, signposted Kwa Madwala/Low Hills and Inkuba Game Farm.
• Continue for 4.5km till you see a sign for Kwa Madwala and Strydomblok Road on your left.

Driving from Durban via Swaziland
• From Durban take the N2 north via Stanger/Mkuze towards Pongola.
• Approximately 50km after Mkuze and 10km before Pongola take the right turn off for Golela Border Post.
• Drive towards Big bend for 40km.
• 5km after Big Bend turn right towards Siteki/Simunye.
• Follow the road until a T Junction.
• Turn left and drive for approximately 4km until another T Junction
• Turn right and drive for approximately38km until you reach the Mananga Border signpost.
• Exit Swaziland at this point.
• Drive for approximately 40 km until you reach a big sugar factory on your right.
• Turn left and go through the private tollgate.
• Cross over a bridge and follow the road until another tollgate.
• Turn left, this road takes you straight to Kwa Madwala which is on your right hand side clearly visible by the Lion’s Head Logo.
• After 300 m you will arrive at the security entrance gate to the Reserve, the guard at the gate will give you a map of the reserve.
• Buses will then travel a further 1.5 km of dirt road to the central buses/coaches parking area.
• Private vehicles travel 5 km on a dirt road to the guest parking area.

Directions from the Lebombo Gate coming from Mozambique
• Once through the border post drive on the N4 for approximately 32.7 km until you reach the turn off to Jeppe’s Reef Road (R570) on your left hand side. Turn left here.
• Carry on for 4.8 km until you reach the Strydomblok turn off on your left hand side. Turn left here.
• Travel on the Strydomblok Road until you reach a Lion Head’s Logo on your left hand side, this is the turn off to Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve.
• From here you will follow a dirt road for 300 m until you reach the security gate to the reserve, the guard at the gate will give you a map of the reserve.
• Buses will then travel a further 1.5 km of dirt road to the central buses/coaches parking area.
• Private vehicles travel 5 km on a dirt road to the guest parking area.

PLEASE NOTE: Watch out for potholes on the Jeppe’s Reef Road!
