Such a warm and friendly welcome from Tony, Alma and the team. And the guides and trackers are so passionate about the bush; they don’t give up once they’ve picked up the spoor. What seemed like a wild goose chase through the bush ended with the most rewarding lion encounter I’ve ever experienced.

ABOUT Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge

In the heart of the African wilderness, lies the tranquil retreat of Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge. Set in the vast Balule Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger Park, the unfenced eastern boundary allows animals the freedom to roam. Tony, Alma and the team invite you to experience nature close-up in the intimacy of this small camp and will ensure a memorable safari. Many guests return to repeat their exceptional experiences. The rooms, with outside showers, have indigenous themes inspired by local tradition and culture. This is also reflected in the gourmet meals served in natural surroundings. Explore this unspoilt eco-system and game reserve with your ranger in an open Landrover or on guided walks. Relax at the sparkling pool or with an aromatherapy massage in the bush spa.

Weekend away at Mohlabetsi

"We had a wonderful stay at Mohlabetsi Lodge in November 2012. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Candy with her very cheerful personality. Our very knowlegeable Ranger, Nick, and our Tracker, Lucky were determined to find us Rhinos and their hard work paid off in the end, with Lucky tracking on foot to direct Nick in the direction the Rhinos were running to. We saw 4 of the Big Five with some interesting small animal sightings as well. The food was always good and they even catered child friendly food for our 6 year old. The rooms were very nice and almost insect free, with an outside shower that was very enjoyable. We would recommend this lodge to anyone who wants to have a break in the bush without having to lift a hand."

Margarethe Coelho from South Africa
