Rissington Inn

"We (my spouse and our two daughters) stopped at the Rissington Inn for only one night on our way back to Johannesburg after visiting Kruger. If we would have know that the hotel had so much charm and was located in such a peaceful area we would have certainly stayed longer. The hotel is the perfect place to relax thanks to its calm, the quality of its restaurant and the very helpful staff. Great place. "

"das Rissington liegt unmittelbar am Krüger-Park und ist deshalb sehr zu empfehlen. prima Essen im Restaurant, sehr nettes Personal, Lunchpaket anstatt Frühstück erhalten - toll the Rissington located directly next to the Kruger Park and is therefore highly recommended. get great food in the restaurant, very nice staff, packed lunch instead of breakfast - great"

"We had a delightful stay, only wish we had stayed longer. Chris and his staff couldn't have been more welcoming and hospitable. It's a wonderful place which would have been great to explore further. Maybe another time."

Guest feedback about Rissington Inn

"Just a message to thank Portfolio and all the establishments we stayed in during our 5 week holiday to South Africa. The quality of accomodation and friendliness of the people we met was definitely in line with your claims in the various books we received from you."

From Nelspruit (45 mins)

Take R40 North to White River (passing straight through Rocky Drift). In White River, at the first set of traffic lights in the town itself (with White River Toyota ahead of you), turn left, following signs to Hazyview and Wildtuin/Kruger National Park. At the next traffic light, turn right - with the playing fields on your left and, further on, an open park with a pond on your right - and carry on alongside the CBD. Cross over the next set of traffic lights and then at the final set, with a Caltex garage on your right, turn left on the R40 for Hazyview. (The R538, via the Numbi Gate, is a busy road and not recommended). Continue on this road for about 45 km, where you will come to a T-junction. Turn left to Hazyview and travel a further 1 km exactly, where you will see the entrance to Rissington Inn on your left. Turn left. Rissington is 1 km down the gravel road from this turn-off. Follow the signs!

From Sabie (45 mins)

Take the R536 to Hazyview. Just before Hazyview (with the Sabi River Sun on your left) you will reach a T-junction. Turn right to Hazyview. Go straight over the next stop street and continue to the traffic lights. This is the main junction in the town. Carry straight on, in the direction of White River on the R40. Cross the next traffic lights and travel just over 1 km (over 2 3-way stops), where you will find the entrance to Rissington on the right hand side. Turn right and Rissington is a further 1 km down the gravel road from this turn-off. Follow the signs!

From Johannesburg/Pretoria (4 hours)

Take N12 or N4 Highway respectively to Witbank ( from Johannesburg International Airport, follow signs to Boksburg to find the N12) and then follow N4 Highway through Belfast and Machadodorp. After the Machado Plaza Toll follow the Schoemanskloof option on the N4 towards Nelspruit (lunch at Old Joe’s Kaia is recommended). Turn left where you rejoin the main N4 at Montrose and continue to Nelspruit. At Nelspruit, where you meet the R40, turn left and follow instructions from Nelspruit above. SCENIC ROUTE (4½ hours) - Take N12 or N4 Highway respectively to Witbank and then follow N4 Highway to the Belfast turnoff. Take the off-ramp and head into Belfast, then right, following signs to Dullstroom. Pass through Dullstroom and carry on to the T-junction, turning left to Lydenburg. In Lydenburg, turn right following signs to Sabie over the Long Tom Pass (the highest tar road in South Africa). In Sabie turn right and follow directions as above.

There are two toll plazas on the N4 at Middelburg (±R30) and Machadodorp (±R45). There is an additional toll between Pretoria and Witbank for those not using the N12 from Johannesburg.
