ABOUT Sanbona Wildlife Reserve

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is in the heart of the Klein Karoo, just a three-hour scenic drive from Cape Town along Route 62 aka the longest wine route in the world. At the foot of the Warmwaterberg Mountains, Sanbona is all about wide-open Karoo plains, indigenous flora and fauna and unique San rock art, some of which date back more than 3 500 years.

You have a generous selection of accommodation to choose from, depending on your preferences and travel group.

Dwyka Tented Lodge is comprised of nine luxury tents with private decks and heated jacuzzies for a secluded, romantic escape. Tilney Manor is a refuge of tranquility. Six spacious open-plan suites, each with their own fireplace and private veranda, cluster around a communal area that includes luxurious lounges and a rim flow pool. Gondwana Lodge is the perfect sanctuary for families, friends and groups, with interconnecting rooms, indoor and outdoor play areas and a child-friendly pool. There is a kids on safari programme that will thrill the little ones with educational and recreational wildlife experiences.

Guests from all three lodges can enjoy the Relaxation Retreat spa with a great variety of therapies and treatments, including a steam room.

Sanbona has its own open land cruisers for game drives at sunrise and sunset, during which you'll see elephant, lion, cheetah, buffalo and numerous antelope species.
