Perched on the banks of the Kariega River yet simultaneously tucked away unobtrusively into the indigenous bush of the Sibuya Game Reserve, Forest Camp is a warm and welcoming hideaway, only accessible by boat. The distinct safari atmosphere is elevated by richly coloured local textiles, luxury furnishings and stunning river views, with the sub-tropical vegetation being home to a high density of wildlife, ensuring an enjoyable game-viewing experience.
The camp’s signature winding wooden walkways lead you to the eight secluded tents, each boasting comfortable king-size beds, plush linen and modern touches. The tents also each have a fireplace, keeping things toasty in cooler weather. In an effort to preserve the surrounding riverine environment, the camp has been designed with a light footprint and runs almost exclusively on solar power.
Another well-known feature at Sibuya is the incredible buffet-style dining, complete with an African flavour. Meals are served in the lapa, under the stars in the traditional boma or on specially arranged picnics. Of course there is no shortage of fine South African wines too.
At Forest Camp, there are no schedules with time being yours to do with what you wish. Relax in luxury, embark on exciting game encounters (the reserve is hone to the Big Five) and be taken care of by dedicated staff committed to ensuring you have a memorable experience.
Please note: There is no WiFi or electronics with intermittent mobile signal – you’re encouraged to fully embrace the natural surrounds. Sibuya is an eco-destination with the camps running almost exclusively on solar power. Children must be 12 years or older. TGCSA 4-Star Lodge.
