The adventure starts with the 30 minute river transfer from reception to the lodge. Have your camera on the ready! The tents nestle in the bush, and I love the total silence at night! Excellent game viewing – I usually see most of the Big 5. Boma dinner in the evenings tops off a most memorable day.

ABOUT Sibuya Game Reserve, Bush Lodge

Sibuya Game Reserve is a beautifully scenic game reserve on South Africa’s malaria-free Sunshine Coast and is home to the stylish bush destination that is Sibuya Bush Lodge. Sibuya is special in that it is the only game reserve in South Africa accessed solely by boat.

Emerging from an indigenous forest, the thatched lodge is a marriage of luxury and modern amenities with classic African safari touches. Four secluded and spacious suites provide the perfect bush sanctuary against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean - a place to relax and truly appreciate the gorgeous surrounds from private viewing decks. Comfortable beds with the crispest white linen ensure a good night’s sleep, especially after a day of exploring and wildlife encounters in the reserve (Sibuya is home to the famous Big Five). Outdoor showers allow you to experience nature in a whole new way while the wood-burning fireplaces ensure you’re warm in the cooler months.

Meals are served buffet-style with a flavoursome African twist and there is an excellent choice of fine South African wines. The lodge is a paradise for nature and bird-lovers, and the relaxed setting makes it easy to unwind. A sparkling swimming pool is the perfect place to cool off when the weather is warm in between enjoying game drives and a range of other exciting activities such as rewarding bush walks, boat trips and game drives.

Attentive and dedicated staff ensures your stay is a hassle-free and memorable one.
