ABOUT Swartberg Private Game Lodge

Surrounded by the majestic Swartberg Mountains in the heart of the Little Karoo, lies an exclusive game lodge offering a wonderful experience combining wildlife, relaxation and Karoo-colonial style.

Adjacent to the special World Heritage Site of the Swartberg Nature Reserve, Swartberg Private Game Lodge is an exclusive reserve that inhabits a unique and ecologically diverse environment, which means that you’re able to discover and appreciate a variety of different animals during your stay. Enjoy a game drive in the open Land Rover where you’ll get to see a range of wildlife, from kudu, to springbok, impala, giraffe and the largest antelope, the eland. A rich floral presence brings colour to the landscape throughout the year, as well as abundant birdlife.

The villa comprises five spacious, stylish rooms, each with their own private patio with truly amazing panoramic views and are the picture of homeliness meets understated sophistication. Extra-length beds and luxury cotton percale linen ensure sweet dreams each night, while modern and classic touches create luxurious, tranquil havens. The large farm-style kitchen is equipped with everything you’ll need for your hassle-free self-catering stay. The sprawling house is ideal for families and large groups, with separate entrances leading to each of the rooms for the utmost privacy.

Choose from a range of exciting activities such as fishing, mountain-biking, walking and of course, game viewing as mentioned. The famous Swartberg Pass and Cango Caves are also nearby and you can easily visit one of the ostrich farms that make neighbouring Oudtshoorn the “ostrich capital of the world”.

Unwind next to the pool on sunny days, spend the afternoon discovering the many books in the well-stocked library or wandering in the landscaped gardens. Take in the stunning mountain scenery from the shady patio while preparing a mouthwatering feast on the braai – a true African adventure.

Immerse yourself in a natural environment while at the same time benefitting from the comfort and magic that only a game lodge can provide.
