Day 1 – 4: Ngorogoro

You’ll fly into Arusha before catching a connecting flight to the Lake Manyara Airstrip and then being transferred to your accommodation in Karatu. Over the next three days, you’ll visit the highlights of the region. Tour the famous Ngorogoro Crater where you’ll explore the forest and lake areas inhabited by a range of different animals, as well as the vast savannas also teeming with wildlife. Enjoy a game drive through the amazing Lake Manyara National Park and even visit an authentic Maasai Mara village to experience how true locals live.

Recommended Accommodation

Maramboi Tented Lodge

Zebra, giraffe and gazelle appear at your doorstep as you relax on your terrace with views over the Great Rift Valley. Great value for money and an option to avoid the bustle of northern Tarangire camps.

Day 5 – 8: Serengeti

This is a special place as it is home to the world’s largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world and has been named as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. It’s an ecologically diverse place, from vast grasslands to riverine forests and swamps, giving rise to a range of different animals, both small and large. Game drives across the plains provide a window into this breathtaking world, allowing you to witness the splendour of herds of zebras and wildebeest as they graze throughout their vast home.

Recommended Accommodation

Kubu Kubu Tented Camp

Kubu Kubu is centrally located in the Serengeti, perfect for exploring surrounds such as the Maasai kopjes and Seronera Valley. The location means shorter game drive options, making it ideal for families.

Day 9 – 12: Zanzibar It’s time to leave the wilds behind and head for some sea, sand and sun. You’ll catch your flight to Zanzibar from your airstrip before being transferred to your resort accommodation. Zanzibar is an archipelago with its historic town centre being the vibrant and fascinating Stone Town, a World Heritage Site. The spice trade features prominently here, so expect to take in the heady scents during town explorations. The allure of any island is usually its beautiful beaches and close association to relaxation, so be prepared to spend your days kicking back on the beach, sampling the tastes of the islands or taking to the waters to view things from a different perspective. Whatever you choose to do, you’re in for a treat.
Day 13: Return to Dar Es Salaam for departure back home

Leave the smells and sights of the island behind as you head back to Zanzibar airport where you’ll catch your flight to Dar Es Salaam, before taking your connecting flight back home after a memorable trip.
