Addo - Aside from well over 400 elephants, visitors to the Addo Elephant Park can see Cape buffalo, many antelope species as well as the rare black rhino, and the flightless dung beetle – a fascinating insect found only in this region.
East London - the first major coastal city after Durban if you are travelling south, East London has the 4th largest harbour in South Africa, and the only river port of any significance.
Grahamstown – Steeped in settler history, the city of Grahamstown has a vibrant student community and once a year hosts the excellent National Arts Festival. Culture vultures and history lovers alike will find plenty to see and do.
Kenton-On-Sea – a small, serene paradise off the beaten track. The town may be pretty simple but nature-lovers will revel in the surrounding natural beauty.
Port Alfred - a charming little seaside town with graceful architecture.
