The Durban Holocaust Centre is first and foremost a place of remembrance for the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust and for all other victims of Nazism. In addition, the Centre runs educational programmes for learners and educators, and engages in public outreach programmes about the Holocaust, human rights abuses and contemporary genocides. Special features within the permanent exhibit include a recreation of Anne Frank’s bedroom in the Secret Annexe, a portrait gallery of rescuers from various genocides, and a memorial garden.
